About Ratih

Hello!! My name is Ratih, and I am a professional native Indonesian tutor. I specialize in helping learners bridge the gap between formal corporate communication and the vibrant, everyday language spoken on the streets of Indonesia. Whether you are an executive expanding your business into the Indonesian market, a researcher analyzing Southeast Asian trends, or a traveler wanting to chat casually like a local in Bali, I have a customized roadmap for you. I understand that the professional world in Indonesia requires a high level of cultural etiquette and formal language (Bahasa Baku). However, I also know that building real relationships happens over coffee using casual speech. My lessons give you the best of both worlds so you can navigate any social or professional setting with absolute confidence!

About the lesson

Friendly Native Indonesian Tutor | Practical Language for Business Basics & Fun Casual Conversations!

Hello! Halo! My name is Ratih, and I am a native Indonesian speaker who loves helping people learn my beautiful language.

Are you planning to work in Indonesia, connect with Indonesian colleagues, or travel to places like Bali and Jakarta? I am here to help you build your confidence from scratch!

My lessons are designed to be practical, relaxed, and completely stress-free. I believe the best way to learn a language is through active conversation. Whether you need to learn basic terms for your career or want to speak casual slang like a local, we will practice together at your own comfortable pace. No pressure, just fun and engaging learning!

*** WHAT WE CAN FOCUS ON ***
We can easily mix and match your lessons based on what you need most:

1. Practical Business Basics
• Everyday Workplace Indonesian: Learn how to greet colleagues, introduce yourself politely, and handle basic office small talk.
• Cultural Etiquette: Understand Indonesian social norms and manners so you can communicate respectfully in professional settings.
• Reading & Writing: Get comfortable reading simple emails or work messages.

2. Casual Speaking & Street Smart Slang
• Real Conversations: Learn the everyday shortcuts (like ga, udah, aja) and expressive words (like sih, deh, dong) that natives actually use.
• Real-Life Roleplays: Practice ordering food, bargaining at markets, or chatting over coffee.
• Modern Texting: Master how Indonesians text on WhatsApp and talk on social media.

*** ABOUT ME & MY APPROACH ***
• Native Indonesian speaker with fluent English skills, so I can explain grammar rules or vocabulary meanings clearly.
• Patient and encouraging. I love creating a safe space where you can make mistakes and learn from them.
• Organized and flexible. I will provide simple, easy-to-understand materials tailored to your personal goals.

*** AVAILABILITY & TIME ZONE NOTE ***
I offer highly flexible hours to accommodate US students across different routines. My available hours are:
• Weekdays (Monday to Thursday): 5:00 AM – 10:00 AM EST (Early Birds) AND 10:00 PM – 2:00 AM EST (Night Owls).
• Fridays: 5:00 AM – 10:00 AM EST.
• Weekends : Highly flexible during US Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings.

*Note: Since my slots vary, please send me a direct message first with your timezone and preferred hours. Let's find the perfect time for you!
