About Matt

As someone who began their journey with music later in life, I wholeheartedly believe that there's no better time to start than today. The process of learning and improving on your instrument can be a challenge, but is one of the most rewarding endeavors you can undertake. It means a lot to me to share what I know about music, the guitar, and the learning process so that I can help someone else fall in love with their instrument as I have.

About the lesson

Beginner-friendly lessons for all ages! We'll cover the basics of the instrument, music theory, chord theory, rhythm techniques, improvisation and real songs to get you started on your musical journey.

I have a particular focus on jam band rhythm guitar playing and improvisational techniques as well!

I've taken lessons from a variety of highly successful teachers around Boston and have a strong understanding of what works. Understanding how challenging it can be to learn a new instrument, I aim to keep lessons as low-pressure and supportive as possible. I have experience playing solo and with bands, performing live and jamming with musicians of all backgrounds.

Perfect! Matt is a passionate and understanding teacher that takes the time ask what interests you about music. Matt creates a comfortable environment for students that are just picking up the guitar, while still being able to relate to more advanced topics like musical theory. Will absolutely be taking lessons from him again!
