About Sawa
I am a native Japanese speaker from Tokyo, Japan, currently living in Auckland, New Zealand. I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and sharing experiences with them here in New Zealand.
When I was a university student, I studied English in Toronto, Canada for six months. This experience helped me understand the challenges and excitement of learning a new language from a learner’s perspective. I can support students in English when explaining Japanese vocabulary, grammar and expressions.
I want to create a relaxed and enjoyable environment where students feel comfortable practicing Japanese. Whether you are a complete beginner or already studying Japanese, I would be happy to support your learning journey.

I offer friendly and personalized Japanese lessons for beginners, travelers, and anyone who wants to improve their Japanese conversation skills.
My lessons focus on practical Japanese that you can use in real-life situations. We can practice everyday conversations, pronunciation, useful expressions, reading and writing (Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji).
Whether you are starting Japanese from zero, preparing for a trip to Japan, or simply want to become more confident speaking Japanese, I will create lessons based on your goals and interests.
I offer online lessons and in-person lessons in Auckland (depending on location). I would love to help you enjoy learning Japanese :)
