About Ruth
I'm Ruth, and I love History! I have always wanted to be a teacher, and have experience as a teaching assistant in a Year 8 History Classroom, which inspired me to become a tutor. I specialise in modern history, my favourite being 20th century, but I have also studied the Anglo-Saxons, Tudors, French Wars, Crimean War, and more diverse topics like that in detail. I am an excellent essay writer, and am able to help students improve their arguments and professionalism. Also, being a similar age to students, I believe I can be a role model and relate to struggles with revision and school, imparting the wisdom I've gained across my academic life. I am a friendly, enthusiastic tutor who is well worth your time.

I received an A* in History A-level, and a 9 in History GCSE, meaning I know exactly what examiners are looking for for those top grades. I can work with students of any level in secondary school who are looking for improvement in History, including essay writing in general. I have experience volunteering in a Year 8 History class, and can provide a reference for this if needed. I did Edexcel and Eduqas exam boards, but am able to cater my tutoring to different exam boards for GCSEs and A-Levels. I am able to do online lessons, each being an hour long and costing £20. I now study History at Oxford University, so am able to give guidance on applying to universities, revision strategies, choosing subjects, etc!
