About Tom

I am a passionate tutor with a love for learning and exploration. My travels, including volunteering in Kruger Park with rhinos and teaching surfing to children in South Africa, have strengthened my adaptability, patience, and communication skills—key qualities in a great tutor. Studying A-Level Biology and Maths, I understand how to break down complex topics into simple, engaging explanations. I bring real-world examples from my experiences, making lessons more interesting and relevant. Whether it’s linking biology to conservation or maths to practical problem-solving, I help students see the bigger picture and build confidence in their learning.

About the lesson

I create engaging, tailored lessons that suit each student’s learning style, using clear explanations, real-life examples, and interactive problem-solving. Lessons typically last 60 minutes, ensuring a balance of teaching, practice, and discussion. I have A-levels in Biology (B) and Maths (C) and a Distinction* in Creative Media, with a strong ability to explain concepts clearly. My lessons are designed for GCSE and A-Level students who need extra support, want to improve grades, or gain confidence in their subjects. I focus on building understanding, exam technique, and critical thinking skills to help students succeed.
