About Benjamin
With 17 years of experience teaching saxophone to college students, I focus on helping learners build confidence, skill, and musical understanding. My teaching style is flexible and student-centered, allowing lessons to match individual goals and learning styles.
I cover essential areas such as tone development, finger technique, rhythm accuracy, and performance skills. I also introduce improvisation and expressive playing to make lessons creative and engaging. Using real-life music examples helps students connect technical practice with actual performances.
To enhance learning, I use modern tools like digital recordings, play-along tracks, and structured practice plans. I also teach music theory, sight-reading, and listening skills to support complete musical growth.
My lessons are supportive and well-organized, helping students improve steadily. Whether you aim to perform on stage or simply enjoy playing music, I am committed to guiding you every step of the way.

My teaching methodology for Saxophone focuses on balanced learning through creativity, guidance, and responsibility. I believe music should be taught in a clear and supportive way. I start by helping students develop essential skills such as breath support, tone quality, finger control, and music reading.
Creativity is encouraged by introducing improvisation, sound exploration, and learning songs that interest the student. I act as a mentor by providing encouragement and constructive feedback, helping students stay motivated and confident. Critical thinking is developed by teaching students to understand rhythm, scales, and musical expression, allowing them to play with clarity and control.
Accountability is maintained through structured practice plans, regular assessments, and progress discussions. Students learn discipline and commitment toward their musical goals. Along with Saxophone, I also teach supporting subjects such as Music Theory, Sight Reading, Rhythm Practice, and Basic Improvisation to help students become complete and confident musicians.
