About Kelsey
My name is Kelsey and I have been a primary school teacher in Portsmouth for just over 2 years. I specialise in teaching Year 2 however I am very flexible at working with all children of primary school age.
My approach to teaching is very child-led, I love talking to children about how they like to learn and tailoring lessons to their needs and likes.
The most important thing for me is getting to know the children I teach so that I know how I can best support them.
I am also a great believer in positive reinforcement and celebrating all successes- large and small.
I also aim to foster a comfortable and laidback learning environment that allows children to feel comfortable making and learning from mistakes.
Before qualifying as a teacher in 2016, I worked as a Teaching Assistant at a local school where I trained in reading intervention schemes as well as working with children from different age groups.
I also tutored children throughout my GCSEs and A Levels.
