About Jessica
I studied a master’s degree in Theoretical Physics at the University of Leeds, achieving first-class honours. I have always loved maths, and truly believe that there is something for everyone to enjoy in it, and I am passionate about helping people to find it. I know that maths can feel confusing and overwhelming, so it is fantastic to be able to guide and encourage students to rise to the challenge with a clear structure for learning concepts.
I also worked as a swimming teacher for 5 years, so I have plenty of experience not only working with children, but also explaining concepts, building trust, and finding what works for each individual.

I’m a friendly and experienced maths tutor with a master’s degree in Theoretical Physics and a background in teaching swimming. I have over two years of experience tutoring and find it so rewarding to watch students gain confidence in their abilities as they make progress. I offer maths tutoring for any level from primary to HSC, and lessons are 1 hour in length.
By breaking down concepts, trying examples together, and practicing problem-solving techniques, I aim to support and build upon the content covered at school and foster students’ independence in learning. Asking questions is something I strongly encourage, and I work hard to help students feel comfortable asking me anything, and not worried about feeling judged.
My lessons typically begin with reviewing the topic to eliminate gaps in knowledge, followed by going over example questions to illustrate this, and then most of the lesson is spent with students actively solving problems. I am used to students working at different paces, so I adjust the lesson to ensure that students do not feel overwhelmed but are still sufficiently challenged.
At the end of the lesson, we do a review of what we went through during the lesson to reinforce learning and to keep track of progress. I provide feedback after every lesson so that parents are kept informed and involved in their child’s maths journey. I also offer additional tailored resources, worksheets, and marking with detailed feedback to support students’ learning outside of lessons.
