About Ibuki

Hi! I’m a third-year medical student in Japan.

I love meeting new people, and I want my lessons to feel like a relaxed chat with a friend rather than a strict class. We can practice natural Japanese while simply enjoying a good conversation.

Outside of my studies, I enjoy reading manga, watching anime (especially Studio Ghibli!), and rowing with my university rowing club.

I also love traveling—both exploring different places in Japan and experiencing the local food and culture, as well as visiting other countries. I’ve been to Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, India, and Nepal. I’m also very interested in Australia and hope to visit someday, so I’d love to hear about your life and experiences there too!

As for English, I learned it for school and exams and have also used it while traveling, so I can manage everyday conversations in English. Our lessons will mainly be in simple Japanese, but I can use simple English or the chat box if you ever get stuck.

Whether you’re a beginner or just want more speaking practice, don’t worry about making mistakes. Tell me about your hobbies, your day, your favorite anime, or anything you’re interested in. I’m looking forward to chatting with you!

About the lesson

My lessons are fully online and focus mainly on relaxed, natural Japanese conversation. We usually meet once a week for 1–2 hours and talk about everyday life, hobbies, food, travel, or anything you’re interested in. I’d like our lessons to feel comfortable and casual, like having a conversation with a friend at a café.

【First Free Trial Lesson (30–60 minutes)】

We’ll start with a free trial lesson (30–60 minutes). We can get to know each other, talk about your goals and interests, and decide what kind of lessons would work best for you. If you enjoy the lesson, we can continue with regular weekly lessons.

【Who are these lessons for?】

* People planning a trip to Japan or interested in everyday life and culture in Japan
* Learners who want to improve their listening and speak more naturally
* People who enjoy anime and dramas and want to understand Japanese expressions or lines better

【What we can do】

**1. Free Talk & Daily Conversation**

This is the main part of my lessons. We can talk about your week, hobbies, food, travel plans, or anything else you’d like to talk about. I’ll help you with natural expressions and everyday Japanese along the way.

**2. Your Own Topics & Questions**

You can also bring anything you’re curious about. For example, you can ask about something from a textbook, an article, anime, a drama, or a song. If there’s a Japanese expression you don’t understand, feel free to ask!

I mainly use simple, natural Japanese during lessons. When needed, I can also use the chat to explain things or give a little help in English.

You don’t need to worry about making mistakes. Let’s take our time, enjoy talking in Japanese, and improve little by little together!
