About Whitney
With a PhD in French Linguistics and more than 3 years of teaching, I help teens fall in love with French. I use youth culture—popular songs, Instagram reels, and French teen movies—as teaching tools. This keeps lessons fun and culturally rich. Students also learn contemporary slang that makes their conversations more real. My focus is on fluency, so every lesson includes speaking practice. I want teens to feel at ease when using the language. Lessons are designed to be interactive and engaging. I adapt to each student’s interests and pace. I believe learning sticks best when it feels relevant to daily life. That’s why I work to make French relatable and memorable. Teens build confidence as they see real progress. I love supporting them in finding their own voice in French. My goal is always to nurture growth, confidence, and connection.

My teaching method is designed to make French both stylish and accessible. I use fashion as a theme to introduce vocabulary, trends, and industry language. Students learn how to talk about haute couture and everyday looks. This makes lessons dynamic and engaging. I build a joyful learning environment where confidence can grow. Conversational practice is central to every session. I’m especially skilled at helping Conversationalists refine their fluency. I also guide Immigrants and Newcomers with patience and encouragement. We practice through interactive activities, like describing a runway outfit or discussing trends. These exercises make vocabulary memorable and conversation natural. I always aim to keep lessons creative and fun. Language learning should feel inspiring, not stressful. With my support, students gain the skills to speak with ease. Together, we make French a language of style and confidence.
