About Sanjay

I live in Palatine, Illinois. I have no problems teaching on remote, online platforms, or in-person. As a professional I am a fully committed teacher and make sure that I give my 200% to my students!!! So, go ahead and get in touch!! I am keen to get to work with you all!!

About the lesson

-My teaching method and techniques are simple, and basic as it helps to create that ideal rapport with diverse students. However, one of the most important for me is finding ways to gain attention and motivate my students. I find ways to quickly gain their attention to 'learn'. So, I spend at least five minutes in every lesson plan on a 'warm up' activity. I use music, videos, warm language and humor to help the students relax into the lesson. I sometimes start off with a quiz to recall prior learning. When introducing a new topic I try to draw on their experience through questions and answers and allowing role-reversals where they can become the teachers. For me, the classroom should be a safe place where mistakes are not only accepted but sometimes encouraged. We can take risks here!!!
-I schedule regular quizzes which allows for an element of summative assessment.

- My typical lesson plan runs in this way:
-Objectives: Topic to be taught.
-Warm-up Activity: Discuss/ Introduce/ Getting started as mentioned above.
-Guided Practice: Model to show 'HOW' the topic is approached.
-Independent Practice: Allow student independence to work on the topic ass modelled by the teacher.
-Assessment/Activities: A quick assessment via quizzes, questions or project based on a simple assessment grid. This is the final evaluation of the student/s.

- I am an individual and my unique approach is to get to all my students. No back-benchers in my teaching philosophy. The Communicative Approach, The Direct Approach, and the Affective Humanistic Approach help me respect the feelings of my student/s. I use positive reinforcement as much as possible and hope to lower their 'Affective Filter'[Emphasis on students' feelings] through games etc. A way to 'break the ice' with shy or timid students.

-My wide experience in teaching English has helped me deal with Business/Corporate Professionals/Executives via Business English Courses, and IELTS, TOEFL etc. On the other side I teach Elementary, Middle, and High Schools students who are struggling with English as a Second Language, Essays, ELA, ELL etc. College/University students also come under my guidance regarding, Literature[Poetry, Prose and Drama] of the UK, USA, and Europe. Lastly, my approaches in teaching Spoken English Courses have helped a lot of students in their Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing Skills.
