About Sheen Yeew
Kia ora! I’m Sheen, a Malaysian born tutor currently living in Dunedin, New Zealand. I graduated with a Bachelor of Global Studies and Spanish from the University of Otago and am currently pursuing a Master of Business degree. Having lived and studied in New Zealand for four years, I have a deep understanding of both local and international learning environments.
I have been passionate about languages since childhood, growing up in a multilingual household (Malay, Chinese, English, Cantonese), and I love helping students discover the joy of learning. Whether you’re a school student, adult learner or someone looking to strengthen your language abilities, I am committed to supporting your progress in a more encouraging way.

With my multilingual background (Malay, Chinese, English, Cantonese) and international study experience, I aim to make learning engaging, practical, and confidence-building.
I offer beginner or intermediate level Chinese lessons for students aiming to improve fluency and comprehension, as well as English lessons for those just starting their language journey. My lessons are designed for learners of all ages, from school students to adults.
Teaching Approach:
I focus on interactive, communicative learning, using real-life examples, multimedia resources and conversation practice.
I tailor each lesson to the student’s goals and learning style, emphasizing understanding over memorization.
Lessons include a mix of reading, writing, listening and speaking exercises with frequent feedback to track progress.
Typical lessons run for 60 minutes, but I am flexible depending on the student’s needs.
