About Sophie

Hi! I'm Sophie, a native Chinese speaker from Taiwan.

I've been teaching Chinese for over six years, working with students from diverse backgrounds, ranging from complete beginners to advanced learners, professionals, and exam candidates. Throughout my teaching journey, I've helped students improve their speaking skills, prepare for HSK and TOCFL exams, communicate confidently in professional settings, and connect more deeply with Chinese-speaking friends, family, and colleagues.

Before becoming a full-time Chinese teacher, I worked in business development and account management, collaborating with international clients across North America, Europe, and Asia. This professional experience allows me to offer practical Business Chinese and help students navigate real-world communication in both social and workplace environments.

As a language learner myself, I understand that every student has different goals, interests, and challenges. That's why I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you're interested in travel, culture, history, current events, business, or simply having more natural conversations, I'll tailor our lessons to help you learn Chinese in a way that is engaging, practical, and meaningful.

I believe the best way to learn a language is to use it to discuss topics you genuinely care about. Rather than relying solely on textbooks, I create lessons around your interests and real-life situations, helping you build practical communication skills while naturally expanding your vocabulary and understanding of grammar.
