About Shaun

Having been exposed to the challenge of working internationally. Job interviews, portfolio reviews, freelancing, being a permanent staff member, owning a few creative businesses, working in movies, etc. And now as a Lecturer in Graphic Design currently. There are skills not focused on that are essential to being a creative that colleges are not teaching. Or designers I have worked had expressed they wished they were taught, that is where I feel I can assist and nurture that to eager students who want to land roles but also stay there or know how to progress, expand or step out on their own.

About the lesson

More coaching, support, advice, training programs where needed.

How to apply your thoughts, concepts, capture interest, get hired, stay hired, communicate, deal with conflict, fit in. Is not really a focus but essential.

How to go from freelancer to Permanent. Or stay a Permalancer (Freelancer that never leaves) maybe you are a Permanent designer looking to leave. Even stepping out of creative to use it to promote your own business far from design, advertise, promote and excel. I have done all of the above.

My aim is to take you from where you are, plot and plan your route, choices, ideas, and execute them. Whilst being available to advise, encourage and motivate your next steps.

Design is not only knowing programs or theory and a cute portfolio. It's about networking, dedication, communication, attitude, being a team player, etc. This is not covered much if at all in uni.

Shaun and I have worked together on many different projects over the years when we both lived in London. He has mentored many designers and 3D artists over the years.

Shaun has in-depth knowledge and expertise in graphic design, 3D modeling and animation, as well as illustration. His extensive software knowledge spans across Cinema 4D, Maya, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and pretty much any application in the Adobe universe.

He has a wonderful tutoring style and is great at meeting the student where they are, regardless of their experience. He's also just an awesome guy!

Travel from Schoemanskloof to Mbombela. We live in the mountains so it takes 40min to get to town and another 40 to get home. Transport, wear and tear mainly and fuel cover.

The hourly fee allows me to treat you as a client. Give you dedicated time, focus and support. Covering internet access, program subscriptions, etc.
