About Wei-Ming
In my previous work in Taiwan, I served as a political assistant responsible for drafting policy briefs, speeches for politicians, and legislative bills. As a result, I am highly skilled in the precise use of language and in conveying implicit meanings through wording. I have also engaged with a wide range of policy issues and developed strong research and analytical abilities.

I typically use extensive, shared reading as the main content of my teaching. For a two-hour class, I'll choose a text that a native speaker could read in 10-20 minutes, depending on the students' abilities. I'll first read it aloud with the students, correcting their pronunciation and asking them questions to clarify their understanding of the literal meaning. This usually takes two to four times longer than for non-native speakers, nearly 40 minutes. Next, I'll continue the discussion with the students, providing relevant new knowledge; this part also takes about 40 minutes. Finally, I'll ask students to spend 15 minutes writing a reflection, insight, or continuation of the text, and then spend the last 25 minutes reviewing their writing.
