With 15 years of performance experience ranging from trumpet to conducting to improvisational comedy, I have developed my own performance style and compatible skillset.
I have experience performing classical, contemporary, blues, and jazz music of many varieties. I am also a composer of wind ensemble music.

As a trained scientist, I approach learning music from an angle based on my experiences. As a result, I find it important to understand why a technique helps so the student can develop the tools to help themself learn and discover more effectively.
A lesson plan will typically begin with exercises designed to help warm up the student while enriching their technical abilities. These exercises will be followed by a mix of repertoire chosen to help the student develop key skills while also working towards their personal interests.
I generally teach students in their first four years of study.
