My tutoring lessons are targeted, effective, efficient, and well-paced, tailored to the student.
I believe that confidence in my students and their learning abilities is the most important goal in my lessons. I will always encourage my students and never belittle them. Education is power and this job is a privilege to me and is my honour.
I like to start my lessons with the fundamentals and basics, and do not like to throw my students into the deep end until I know their progress. I calmly guide my students through the session, and show them step by step how to complete the problem or task.
For me, it is so important to stay grounded as a tutor, and to never assume that the subject is easier than it is. I teach lessons that are truly adjusted to my students capabilities . The way I teach my classes are adjusted to the confidence of my students in their capabilities and their way of absorbing information. The way I structure my lessons, and the way I communicate with my students during these lessons, are all driven by their different ways of thinking, and their progress.
I also like to focus on the bigger picture in my lessons, which is the assessment. I like to write my students practice exam questions, and prepare them for what could appear on the paper. I also like to go through the task sheets of their assignments thoroughly, and ensure they understand it. I then write them a checklist for how they could complete these tasks to a high standard.
Moreover, in terms of the online teaching option of the job, one of the key benefits is having the opportunity to assess a students’ knowledge in a relaxed, non judgmental environment, in which they are in the comfort of their own homes.
I aim to do much more than just elevate their scores, however. I aim to inspire them, motivate them, and show them that confidence is everything when it comes to their ability to achieve higher results.
