About Amanda
As an educator with over 15 years of experience tutoring, I've seen a wide variety of platforms and strategies for supporting students. My first experience working in education was for an alternative school where I created and managed tutoring centers around Oregon truly showed me the transformative power of personalized, one-on-one support. Watching students blossom as they received individual attention and guidance was a truly inspiring experience, and it led me to think deeply about the importance of student success beyond just the classroom. When I had the opportunity to volunteer at a school in Ghana while I was pursuing my Master's in Education, I knew I had to follow the calling. Seeing firsthand the challenges faced by students and educators with limited resources only deepened my commitment to helping students everywhere achieve their full potential. The headmistress of the school hosted me during my stay, and I learned so much from being immersed in that educational environment completely. After my time in Ghana, I maintained my passion for education in a variety of roles, including a Senior Program Manager for a SAT/ACT tutoring company, an Engagement Administrator at an online charter school, as well as other pursuits working at an Autism Curriculum company, online school Truancy Specialist, College Admissions Consultant, while continuing to provide private tutoring throughout my career. No matter where I was or what I was doing, I remained passionate about helping students develop a joy for learning and see the “why” behind the skills they need to succeed in school and in life.

A typical writing session would start out with an overview of objectives, brainstorming strategies, and an outline of the paper. We would then move into the overall structure of the essay, supporting facts, and editing. Note: Common App or admissions essays can take ~5 hours to complete and submit. School writing assignments can generally be completed in a 60-90 minute session based on the scope of the assignment and pre-work completed.
