About Frederico
I am Frederico Machado and I have been teaching English since 2008. I have chosen this career because, like Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” I believe that when one tutors a person in communicating in English, one provides this learner with a tool that can be used to connect people from all over the globe and access a larger amount of information. Consequently, giving him/her the opportunity to become more educated.
I am qualified for this position because I am fully licensed and bachelor in Languages (English/Portuguese) from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, I have just earned my CELTA certification in 2021.2 and I have more than 10 years of experience in teaching the communicative approach and task-based learning classes for different levels (A1-C2). Moreover, I have learned English using these approaches. Due to that, I truly believe they can work.

I help students and professionals to communicate in English. To begin with, I ask them what their goal is (e.g. to get into an English university, to pass a job interview in English, to improve their presentations at work etc.). Then I talk to them to get an idea of their level of English, and, based on the time available, I create a tailor-made course for them. With each lesson and conversation, I try to provide something that is always useful, fun, and effective.
