About Jamie
My name is Jamie my passion for teaching comes from a deep-seated belief that all children deserve the opportunity to fulfill their potential and with the correct nurturing and support, every child can achieve this. I feel very strongly that my role as an English language teacher does not begin and end at teaching English. Therefore, I create a classroom environment that helps students to attain an excellent, well-rounded learning experience. This means they excel academically and as an individual. I try to instill in my students the same passion for learning that I have.
My classes are highly learner-centered, with a focus on student-specific goals and confidence building. In my experience, this approach of task-based learning and communicative language teaching allows the students to expand their knowledge in a much more natural and imaginative manner. This results in
students becoming more confident with their use of the language.
The most important facet of my classroom is its dynamism. This allows me to unlock the students’ imagination and nurture a level of individuality for each child. My classroom is an ever-changing world where children can express themselves free of stress and worry.

By taking a holistic approach to our English lessons, and catering to all different learning styles, I'm able to offer several different classes, including oral, phonics, grammar, and reading, with lessons often being a combination of two or more of these areas.
This approach is aimed at improving all areas of the student's English Language skills in order to create a more confident and well-rounded English Language user. Additionally, through identifying students’ strengths and weaknesses, we have been able to target areas in which the students need help and offer ‘student specific’ activities and feedback to ensure their continued success. We aim to create an engaging and relaxed ‘classroom’ atmosphere, where all students feel happy to express themselves, interact with others, and are eager to learn more!
Lessons are either 30 or 60 mins and, though they change significantly to suit the students' level, needs, and aims, they usually comprise of a small oral/review intro segment, a more thorough look at the lessons' main topic, with a variety of activities, and a final review or comprehension task.
We cater to many different abilities and levels, from very young learners or beginners to phonics and early readers, and onto reading and listening comprehension, early writing, and grammar.
By combining this approach with elements of fun and, on occasion, a bit of silliness, we hope we have created fun, memorable and exciting lessons that are relevant, useful, and, most of all, enriching the students’ English skills and ensuring their progress.
