About Imran
Hello, I’m Imran. I am a fully qualified British Humanities Teacher and former school leader (Head of Year 9, 10, & 11) with 6 years of experience delivering the British National Curriculum both in the UK and at premier international schools overseas.
I hold full PGCE and QTS status, and my classroom practice has been consistently observed as engaging, effective, and meticulously planned by senior mentors and ITT leaders alike. Having served as a Head of Year for multiple cohorts, I don’t just understand the academic syllabus—I understand the data-driven tracking, pastoral interventions, and student mindset required to unlock a child's true potential.
I have a proven track record of significant grade improvement across my 6 years in education. Furthermore, I have extensive experience collaborating closely with school SENCOs to design highly effective strategies and interventions for students with diverse learning needs, including Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Autism, and Asperger’s Syndrome. My focus is on reducing visual stress, enhancing phonological awareness, and optimising processing speed so that students of all abilities can thrive and work with absolute confidence under exam conditions.

History IGCSEs are rarely lost on a lack of core historical knowledge; they are lost on poor exam technique. My tutoring methodology focuses heavily on shifting students away from purely descriptive, narrative responses towards high-level analytical evaluation to maximise raw marks.
Utilising my deep familiarity with the Edexcel Pearson framework, I train students to systematically unpack specific exam criteria. We master historical source evaluation, utility, causation, consequence, and the structural development required for high-scoring 12 and 16-mark essays under strict timed conditions.
Every student receives customised, exam-board-specific resources, including CRIB sheets, writing frames, and feedback models designed to bridge their knowledge gaps and push them into the next grade tier. We focus heavily on critical core concepts like Change and Continuity, Similarity and Difference, and Causation so that students can confidently write with analytical precision rather than just summarising events.
