About Dora
I’m Dora, and come from Shanghai, a vibrant and inclusive city that shaped who I am. I enjoy traveling, exploring new places, and experiencing different cultures .
I have a strong foundation in Chinese, both modern and classical, and I especially love classical poetry and literature. With my deep knowledge of Chinese history and culture, I enjoy helping students understand not just the language but the rich traditions and stories behind it.
Currently, I’m pursuing a Master’s in World Language Education at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, ranked #1 in education in the U.S. Back in China, I graduated from a teacher’s university, earned my Chinese teaching certification, and hold a Level 2A Mandarin certificate, which means my pronunciation is standard and accurate. I then taught in Shanghai, where over the past ten years, I’ve helped many students fall in love with Chinese and make real progress. My students have ranged from kids wanting to practice basic speaking skills to university students aiming to deeply understand Chinese culture and even pursue careers as diplomats.

Hi, I’m Dora, a passionate Chinese teacher certified by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, with over ten years of experience and a Putonghua Level 2 Grade A certificate with standard pronunciation. Over the past decade, I have helped countless students fall in love with Chinese and make real progress. In my classroom, I love interacting with students and designing a variety of activities, using multiple resources to make learning engaging and fun. With my strong knowledge of both Modern and Classical Chinese, I look forward to exploring the language and culture together with my students, growing and learning alongside them.
