About Oliver
As a full-time professional tutor, I have worked predominantly with children from primary level to GCSE examinations for six years, both in London and in many countries around the world. My speciality is preparing children for pre-tests and the Common Entrance examinations at 11+ and 13+. I also have a lot of experience in GCSE History and English Language and English Literature. I am studying a Master's Degree in Special Educational Needs at the University of Roehampton and am building up experience with helping children in this field. I strongly believe that nothing improves a child’s desire to learn more than a fun and inspiring tutor. If you can instil and invigorate a love for a subject, the child's marks will improve. Children are unique, and I consider unlocking a child’s mind to understand how best they learn to be my biggest strength. I am a relaxed and easy-going tutor that will take the stress out of helping your children prepare for examinations, or simply providing mentoring and after-school support to boost confidence. Olly has been tutoring my two sons, preparing 11+ and 13+ in English and History. They both made tremendous progress under his guidance and my eldest son achieved an A* in History and A in English which were not strong topics at all. Olly has been great for them, making the sessions entertaining as well as educative and getting them very strong bases to build a strong essay and do source questions, something they will be able to use for many years.
Oli helped my daughter. Through her 11+ exams this January 2018 and really built up her confidence and improved her skills in maths, english, VR and non VR. He has a great way with kids having also helped my 10 year old previously. The children both responded well to him and enjoyed the lessons and his way way of communicating and teaching.
