About Gavin
I have been teaching for over 20 years and the bands I have played in have had many residencies over the years. I love playing songs that I like as well as writing my own music and improvising. I have found teaching the guitar to be very rewarding and it keeps me learning too. But the best part is seeing my students develop from playing their first few notes to finally playing their favourite songs and learn how to improvise.

I'm an experienced musician who has played in many bands since the age of 14 and I also write for production music libraries. I have been teaching guitar and bass guitar for over 20 years. I teach acoustic and electric guitar to all ages and hold a basic disclosure, PVG Licence and enhanced DBS check. I can teach many styles including Blues, Rock, Metal, Folk, Country, Jazz, and Pop. I usually teach following the Rockschool, London College Music and Trinity Rock and Pop syllabuses, developing playing skills while learning real songs, as well as preparing you for and teaching you any songs that you like. Apart from my teaching experience, I have been in the music industry for more than 20 years. I also have lots of experience composing songs and improvising as well as having acquired a great deal of knowledge on how the industry works and how to maximise your income from music. Therefore I can also provide some guidance on a career plan for the musicians hoping to make this their job. I can also offer advice on recording and setting up a home studio so that you can record your own music.
