About Trish
I tutored math and science to other students while I was still in high school and throughout my undergrad; I have always loved teaching. I went to Guelph University and completed my biological science degree and attended teachers college in Aberdeen, Scotland. I started out my career teaching senior biology and general science but in the last few years have been focussing on teaching mathematics. I love finding ways that students actually understand the math and not just memorizing a bunch of rules.

I believe that kids want to learn and want to do well but don't always have the confidence or understanding to do so. I feel like it is really important to start where the student is at and build from there. I explain things to them in a way that they can actually understand and don't overcomplicate the language I use. I figure out what style of learner my student is and then differentiate my lesson to match their needs. I LOVE teaching my students and also learning from them.
