About Aparna

I’m an A* student with a strong academic background in mathematics, having achieved Grade 9 at GCSE and A in both A-Level Maths and Further Maths*. I have experience tutoring both individual students and small groups, and I bring a calm, focused approach to helping others succeed. As both a tutor and a recent student myself, I understand first-hand the specific areas where students tend to struggle the most—whether it’s understanding abstract algebra, applying problem-solving methods under pressure, or tackling word-heavy exam questions. Because I’ve been through these challenges myself and worked with others facing the same issues, I know how to explain complex topics in clear, manageable steps. My lessons are exam-focused, structured around each student’s unique needs, and designed to boost both understanding and confidence. I’m patient, encouraging, and always create a space where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes—because that’s how real learning happens. Having volunteered as a tutor and supported students across different levels, I know how to adapt to different learning styles and help students stay motivated. About the lesson

As a passionate and patient tutor, I focus on helping students truly understand mathematics, not just memorise methods. I tailor each lesson to the individual’s needs, ensuring we build strong foundations before moving on to more complex topics. Whether it's mastering algebra, tackling tricky exam questions, or boosting confidence, I adapt my approach to suit every student’s pace and learning style. I achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Maths and A in A-Level Maths and Further Maths*, and have experience tutoring both one-to-one and in small groups, both in person and online. I’ve also volunteered in school-based tutoring programmes, helping students who were struggling to catch up and achieve their target grades. My lessons are typically 60 minutes long and are structured to include: A quick warm-up or recap of previous work A focused session on new topics or questions Active problem-solving and exam practice Clear, calm explanations with space for questions I specialise in teaching GCSE, A-Level, and Further Maths students, typically aged 14–18, but I'm always happy to support anyone who wants to improve their understanding and confidence in maths. I am an exam-focused tutor who believes that with the right support, every student can succeed. My goal is to help students feel less anxious, more confident, and fully prepared for their exams.
