About Andrii
A gap year student with an unconditional offer from Imperial College London to study Computer Science, who decided to spend his year by teaching mathematics, and showing it from another, perhaps yet unseen, angle. I believe mathematics is as fundamental as it can get. After all, it is a driver of many other fields, its presence is almost transcendental. With this faith, I believe it is crucially important to teach mathematics in a way where each consecutive domain is directly derived from the previous, beginning from the first principles. I am deeply interested in a polymath's approach to learning and living. There are many things that interest me, ranging from humanities like history and geography, to foreign languages and poetry. My hobbies include chess, programming, digital electronics, and of course the mathematics itself. Having the subject I am teaching as a passion helps me deliver that deep affection to all the students of mine, something that I will always keep on doing.

My teaching involves 3 simultaneous steps. The first step involves fundamental understanding of a concept, which is why I focus on answering the WHY question by deriving the concept/formula from the first principles. The second step is instantly focusing on the exam-style questions from past papers which helps students to apply their learned knowledge in practical exam environment. The third step is constant practice of the concept as well as seeing it from another angle. The 3 steps, if done simultaneously, will allow student to understand the concept at the fundamental level and then be able to answer an exam style question straight away. Throughout all tutoring journey, my methodology heavily relies on giving as much feedback to the student as possible. Typical length of the lesson is 1 to 2 hours depending on the preference of the student. I have been a mathematics A-level tutor for a year during which I helped many students using my methodology. A prominent example is a student who went from a low grade to an A during their January mock exam. I also helped dozens of students who are retaking their exams, by giving them enough confidence, motivation, and tutoring to ace their exams. My lessons are for GCSE or A-Level students of any age.
