About Sara
Hi, I'm Sara, a GCSE English Language and Literature tutor!
I am a current English student at Royal Holloway, University of London. I aim to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Secondary Education after university, to become an English teacher.
In my own GCSEs, I achieved grade 9s in both English Language and Literature (AQA). Additionally, I achieved the highest marks out of my year group, with Language being taken a year early.
I love to help others and give advice. As I have been through this process myself and now studying this subject at a higher level, I am well-placed to offer advice and assist with any concerns you may have.

Before the initial session, I like to schedule a 5-10 minute call to see where students are currently in terms of progress and attainment. I am interested to know how students learn, and which methods work best for each individual. This way, we can work together to develop an effective tutoring plan.
I use a number of resources to tutor, including PowerPoints, past paper questions and mark schemes.
The application of knowledge and exam technique are amongst the most important factors in improving grades. English should be accessible for all, so I am interactive and easy-going in my approach.
Above all, mindset matters. Often a lack of confidence can stop students from achieving as highly as they would like, so my use of positive reinforcement is very important. You absolutely can do this and are capable - I hope I can help your confidence flourish!
