About Alan
I have over 30 years teaching experience abroad and in the UK as a classroom practitioner. I have taught Business Studies and Economics including A level and ICT at IGCSE level to students from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. Experience of private tuition and have given classes to individuals, small groups and on-line tutoring.

Until recently I was employed at the New English School, a large and prestigious co-educational day school in Kuwait, where I taught for 11 years. I have a proven track record regarding examination results with students from a variety of cultural backgrounds. I believe that students are successful when they are engaged and enjoy the subject they are being taught. This success is not only measured in terms of examination results but also in the interest developed in the subject and the value that is added to their education. My academic work involved the delivery of quality lessons, writing and developing schemes of work, preparing internal examinations and the analysis of data, such as: bench-marking, progress measures and value-added.
