About Lou
Maths has always been something I genuinely love. There's something deeply satisfying about the moment a problem clicks into place, and I want my students to feel that too. I scored highly in my own maths exams and have tutored students through the subject before, so I know both the content inside out and the kinds of stumbling blocks students tend to hit. That combination means I can explain things clearly, spot where you're getting stuck, and help you push through it.

I teach online using Bitpaper, where lessons focus on problem-solving, understanding exam language, and improving exam technique through practice questions. The goal is to make the easier exam questions feel automatic. I usually start from first principles, using minimal aids, and build on what you already know before explaining new ideas. At the end of each lesson, I ask you to reflect on what you’ve learned.
Homework is set after every lesson and is expected to be completed before the next session. I use Notion to track homework and help maintain focus. For those interested, lessons can be recorded using Fathom, with summaries shared via email or another preferred platform and uploaded to Notion.
I aim to keep students engaged by creating a focused and productive learning environment. While you do the hard work, I guide you, keep you accountable, and support your progress. I also ask students to complete a feedback form after each lesson so I can continue improving based on their input.
