About Jude

5+ years experience, I offer tutoring for GCSE and A-Level students in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, and Electronics, covering all major UK exam boards: AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC/Eduqas, and CCEA. At the GCSE level, I teach Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Electronics, while at A-Level, I specialise in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Electronics.

I am currently a university student in a placement year pursuing a degree in Electronic Engineering with Computer Systems. I have achieved first-class grades, with scores reaching up to 100% in my first and second years. My expertise lies in STEM subjects, and my academic background, combined with hands-on experience in engineering, allows me to teach not just theoretical concepts but also their real-world applications.

I started tutoring during my GCSE years, assisting peers with challenging topics. Over the past five years, I have expanded my experience to work with students from Key Stage 3 to undergraduate level. In addition to one-on-one sessions, I have also facilitated group study sessions and workshops, refining my ability to adapt my teaching to a wide range of learning styles. Through both personal experience and tutoring, I have come to believe that the number of hours spent studying is not the key determinant of success. Instead, I focus on ensuring the right level of struggle in learning. This balance—challenging enough to promote deep thinking but not overwhelming—is what leads to the most significant development. Interestingly, I have found that around 85% of students overlook this crucial factor. My approach is to guide students towards productive struggle, where they actively engage with problems, develop resilience in problem-solving, and ultimately build confidence and independence in their learning.

Each lesson is tailored to the individual student’s needs, whether they prefer a structured, step-by-step learning plan or a more flexible, question-driven approach. My focus is on helping students not just understand concepts but also develop critical problem-solving skills and confidence in applying their knowledge.

A typical session includes:

- A short recap of previous content or relevant schoolwork
- Time dedicated to answering student questions and clarifying doubts
- The introduction of new concepts in a clear and practical way
- Focused practice and application to reinforce learning

However, this structure remains flexible. Some students may prefer sessions dedicated entirely to problem-solving, while others might benefit from in-depth theoretical discussions. We will determine the best approach during our initial consultation and adjust lessons accordingly to ensure they are as effective as possible.

Students appreciate my ability to break down complex concepts into simple, digestible parts. My sessions are engaging, interactive, and adapted to each student’s pace and goals. I focus on building deep understanding rather than rote memorization and strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment. My goal is to make every session productive, stress-free, and effective, helping students develop a genuine interest in their subjects and achieve their academic aspirations.
