About David
I’m a 24-year-old tutor with over 5 years of experience helping students improve their grades, understanding and confidence. I have a strong academic background in science, mathematics, data analysis and human performance, and I particularly enjoy breaking down complex scientific concepts into simple, easy-to-understand ideas.
I completed a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science at Loughborough University before continuing my postgraduate studies in the USA, including a Master’s in Data Analytics at Bradley University. I am currently completing a Master’s in Physiology and Nutrition at Loughborough University.
My academic background has involved extensive work with scientific principles, mathematics, data analysis, experimental methods and quantitative problem-solving. I also have first-hand experience working with scientific data and laboratory testing through my university studies and research experience.
Alongside my studies, I compete as a high-level 800m athlete, having represented Wales and competed in the NCAA. This has given me a practical understanding of areas such as mechanics, forces, energy, power, motion and the application of scientific principles to human performance.
I enjoy teaching Physics because it is a subject where understanding the underlying principles is much more valuable than simply memorising equations. My aim is to help students understand why something happens and then develop the confidence to apply that knowledge to unfamiliar questions.

My lessons are structured, engaging and tailored to each student's individual needs, whether they are aiming to pass, improve their grades or achieve the highest possible marks.
I can support students with GCSE and A-Level Physics, with lessons covering areas such as mechanics, forces and motion, energy, electricity, waves, particles, atomic and nuclear physics, fields and other areas of the specification.
A major focus of my lessons is learning how to apply Physics rather than simply memorising equations. We will break difficult concepts down step-by-step, work through calculations carefully and then apply the knowledge to exam-style questions.
I also place a strong emphasis on mathematical skills, units, rearranging equations, interpreting graphs and analysing data. These skills are fundamental to Physics, with exam specifications requiring students to apply mathematical relationships and quantitative reasoning.
We can also work through past-paper questions and mark schemes to develop exam technique, identify common mistakes and understand exactly what is required to gain marks.
My teaching style is clear, patient and supportive. If a student is struggling with a topic, I will approach it from different angles and use practical examples where appropriate to make the concept easier to understand and remember.
I offer a free first lesson so we can establish the student's current level, identify areas for improvement and create a plan for future sessions.

David made my daughter feel comfortable whilst delivering quality tutoring sessions at a very affordable price. Im very surprised at low little he charges for the standard of his lessons. He gave good explanations and practice questions. His lessons helped my daughter in her A level Physical Education and Maths. I recommend David if you're looking for an affordable, knowledgeable and well mannered tutor.
I recommend David due to his hard work and determination that he put in during tutoring. He always comes to lessons with prepared notes and practice questions. David adapted his pace of teaching to my daughter who struggled to learn at a fast pace, so he broke things down into pieces which worked really well.
