About the lesson

Hello and thank you for viewing my profile. My name is Jacob, I'm 28 years old and my current role is as a GCSE Maths teacher at Barnsley College. I currently teach students who are studying at foundation level, which is where I'd say my expertise lies.
I have been in my current role for almost 3 years and also have experience in delivering functional skills maths which may be of interest to some learners who are at college and wanting that extra bit of help to ensure they pass their exam.
As I deliver to students who are at college, unfortunately they have come from school where they have previously gained a D or an E grade and my job is to help students improve and hopefully gain that C grade that everyone desires. I would like to think I am very capable and competent with this type of learner as it is what I've been doing for almost 3 years and also students/tutees who are wanting to gain that extra bit of knowledge so they can hopefully improve and gain that vital C grade when it comes to sitting their exams in May/June.
I would describe myself as easy going, laid back and calming which I believe I am like in the classroom to put the students at ease and also I tend to develop an excellent rapport with my learners and I believe that is due to my friendly and relaxed approach I have with them.
I will be able to tailor my delivery to each individuals needs as well as teaching the relevant subjects required in the GCSE curriculum. I also have a vast amount of resources available due to the nature of my job, so anybody under my tutelage will always have work to do, whether I am there or not.
