About Callum
I LOVE Maths. I love how it can be so complex and yet so simple at the same time. But most of all I love teaching maths. There is always a million ways to explain and understand an idea in Maths and I love finding them. I began tutoring over a year ago now and since then I have learned a lot. I've developed a sense of professionalism. I've learned that it's important to be able to think on your feet, that the lesson plan is just a guide to follow not instructions. But most of all I've learned that the most vital skill for teaching Maths is patience. No matter how well you think you have explained something sometimes a student just won't get it. And that's okay. It's up to me to find a new way to explain it and try again, regardless of how many tries it takes. This is how I believe Maths should be taught. I was lucky enough to have been taught this way and I would love to return the favour.
