About Sam
Hi, I'm Sam. I have been teaching maths one-to-one at GCSE level for five years now, and I have extensive knowledge of the Edexcel and AQA specifications.
I am very easy-going and approachable, and strive to build a rapport with my students.

One of the advantages of one-to-one tutoring is that it allows for a more personalised approach to teaching that best suits the student. Working closely with my students, I monitor the areas they are struggling in in order to form appropriate lesson plans, scaffolded tasks and teaching strategies for overcoming difficulties. At the end of lessons, I am always happy to provide homework/extra practice material, and am equally happy to provide feedback upon completion.
Above all, I aim to tutor in a way that makes the subject-matter clear, accessible and interesting, helping my students to gain confidence in using maths skills and applying mathematical reasoning to unfamiliar problems.
