About Lily
I’m a GCSE tutor based in London, specialising in History (OCR) and Sociology (AQA). I recently completed both subjects and achieved high grades, so I understand the exams well and what helps students do well in them.
I’ve worked with students in Years 9–11, helping them improve their understanding, build confidence, and feel more comfortable with exam-style questions. I’m particularly good at teaching content clearly and making essay-based subjects easier to understand.
My teaching style is kind, patient, and flexible. I’m adaptive and use different methods depending on the student, especially for memory and revision, including active recall, repetition, and visual or creative approaches where helpful. I try to make learning feel less stressful and more manageable.
Lessons are usually 60 - 90 minutes and are relaxed but focused. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and to actually enjoy making progress.
I’m especially strong in essay subjects and also bring a creative approach to learning, helping students think in different ways and express their ideas clearly.

I take a calm, structured and supportive approach to tutoring, focusing on making content clear and easy to understand. I am adaptive in my teaching and use a range of methods to suit different learning styles, especially for memory-based subjects, including active recall, repetition, and visual techniques. I also use guided practice and exam-style questions to build both knowledge and confidence.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, but can be adapted depending on the student’s needs and focus for that session.
I achieved high grades in both GCSE History (OCR) and Sociology (AQA) in the past year, and I have experience tutoring students in Years 9–11. Having recently been through the exams myself, I understand what examiners are looking for and how to help students improve their answers effectively.
My lessons are aimed at GCSE students (Years 9–11), whether they need help catching up with content, improving exam technique, or pushing towards top grades.
