With a Bachelor's degree in German and a certificate in Education and Educational Studies, I take a very methodical approach to teaching and am comfortable working with students of any age. Figuring out what topics students have a good grasp of and which they may need to improve is essential to my learning plans, and I would prefer that students honestly let me know when they don't understand what's being taught. Practical lessons are at the core of my instruction, so proper knowledge and learning of context, grammar, vocabulary, and word choice are key to improving my students' language skills. I work best with students that have an earnest interest in German and would like to use it in the future, but I also like to educate students that may just want to learn the basics and try the language out.
I am a German graduate from UW Madison. As such, I have extensive knowledge in the language and have over a decade of experience learning it. I have also studied abroad in Germany and have a strong grasp of the local culture there. While I have relatively little experience in practical lessons, I did work with the German School of Madison as an assistant teacher and have an extensive history as a mentor in the places I've worked.
