About Laura

I am a German student in the UK at the University of Warwick and study Film and Television. I have have more than two years of tutoring experience in the subject and therefore know how to strategically target my pupil's weakness to allow them to achieve their goals in the language, whereas it be for school, university or an upcoming holiday. Being a German Native, I took German at a native level at school and won the most-outstanding student reward in the subject at school. At University, I focus my studies on German film having secured an internship at a major production company in Germany. My knowledge of film and literature will be especially beneficial in teaching intermediate and advanced levels of German through actively engaging with literary and cinematic sources.

About the lesson

I promise excellent teaching quality and professionalism and will see that you will improve in the subject area quickly. My teaching methodology depends on the level and the individual's strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, we will sit down and discuss your personal realistic goals and formulate a strategy, which will allow you to reach these.

Roughly however, I will say that at beginner's level, you will first learn to perfect your grammar, vocabulary and the dreaded pronunciation through written and spoken exercises. If you are studying the subject for school or University, we will take direct reference to your course books.

At intermediate and advanced Level, we will engage in written exercises and conversation. I also like to take German Film and Literature as a reference point to perfect the language. Watching foreign films and reading the literature is a fun an effective method of perfecting the language. Again, if you study German at school or University, we will take your course as guidance for you to be able to master that.
