About Jenna

Hello! My name is Jenna. I’m originally from Munich, Germany, where I graduated from a German high school with a strong academic foundation. As a native speaker, I have an excellent command of both written and spoken German. I’m currently pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in the United States and am also a student-athlete on my university’s tennis team. Through competitive sports, I’ve developed a strong sense of discipline, organization, and perseverance—qualities that I bring directly into my teaching.

I’ve been tutoring for over six years. In Germany, I supported younger students across various subjects, including German, English, and mathematics. For the past three years, I’ve also worked at my university’s learning center, helping fellow students in psychology, statistics, academic writing, and German.

My lessons are structured, personalized, and practical. I strive to create a friendly, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable, engaged, and motivated. Whether you're learning German for school, work, certification exams, or everyday communication—I tailor each session to your goals and pace.

Having experienced the challenges of learning a new language myself (including passing the TOEFL and studying in an English-speaking environment), I understand what language learners go through and how to guide them effectively.

About the lesson

I place great importance on structured yet flexible lessons that are tailored to each student’s individual needs. My goal is to create a motivating and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and are encouraged to actively participate.

At the start of each learning journey, we discuss your goals and any specific challenges you may be facing. A typical lesson includes a brief review of prior knowledge, the introduction or deepening of new concepts, and practical exercises—such as dialogues, reading texts, or problem-solving tasks. I always provide clear feedback and suggestions for further practice. If desired, I’m happy to prepare personalized materials or small homework assignments.

My teaching style combines clear explanation, hands-on application, and collaborative reflection. I strive to make lessons engaging and dynamic—using real-life examples, everyday context, and even playful elements, especially when it comes to language learning. My students often highlight my patience, clarity, and ability to break down even complex topics into understandable steps.

I work with a diverse range of learners, including:

University students (e.g., academic writing or psychology support)

Adults looking to improve or refresh their German for everyday life or work
