About Gabrielle

My name is Gabrielle Francesca Peacock, though I prefer 'Gabby.' I am a graduate in German and Music. I have worked in two German schools and am also a qualified CELTA (Tefl) teacher. I spent around 12 years working as a German-speaking CSR in a custodian bank and various other businesses. For the last seven years, I have been working for myself, and in partnership with one well-known provider, as an online German teacher primarily, and as a face-to-face and online piano teacher. I also have two years' experience working with people with learning difficulties as a support worker, so I fully understand others' learning styles and needs. I am a friendly, upbeat, professional German teacher, who will adapt their teaching approach to meet your goals. I am particularly skilled at explaining grammar and challenging vocabulary. Here is my latest item of student feedback (from an online source): 'Helpful feedback, Helped me understand, Got everyone speaking, Brought lesson to life, Well-prepared, Spoke in the target language, Wrote down notes, Brilliant in almost all possible ways. About the lesson

I am an experienced online German teacher for adults, with my own fun-packed German beginner’s taster course 'Mein Leben auf Deutsch'. I also offer formal lessons, using 'Goethe Institute' materials from A1 to C1 + levels. I am British but lived and worked in the German culture for about 10 years. I have a joint 2.1 honours degree in German and Music. I also teach alongside natives for a well-known language provider. My German is currently at master’s degree standard; due to the many extra years I spent in the German culture after my BA. I am currently offering a 10-lesson fast track German beginners’ course, in which you can learn approximately 1000 words of German, talking mainly about yourself, your friends and family, your general day-to-day routine, which includes hobbies, work, likes and dislikes, travel, food and activities. My taster course includes an introduction to basic grammar, though the focus is on speaking and vocabulary. In my German taster course, you will work through seven well-prepared PowerPoint presentations with space for your own notes, which you will then keep. Depending on your learning preferences, the course should be completed in a maximum of twelve lessons. I can support the whole range of learners, from total beginners through to undergraduates who are seeking extra support.
