About Ruben
I have been living in the UK for 3 years now and I am fluent in English, German and Italian. I taught Italian and BassGuitar to several people since the early years of secondary school gaining communicative skills that enabled me to get better and better at it. I really like the aspects of teaching languages and that is why I am involved in several projects the Uni offers to students. I scored maximum points in the final high-school exam (Diploma di Stato 15/15) regarding Italian. I attended private school lessons in Bass Guitar for 4 years having the opportunity to hone my skills playing with great musicians and participating in inspiring Workshops. My mother is Spanish mother tongue and I can speak it pretty good (Nivel-C1). I also have a B2Goethe certificate in German and a B2(Cambridge)+IELTS certificates in English.

My teaching method is to approach the language in a serious and entertaining way recognising the good and bad skills of the person who wants to learn. Therefore working on the difficult sides while keeping the more spontaneous ones fresh and exercised. I feel confident teaching all aspects of the language especially grammar and pronunciation, at the same time I appreciate also the humanistic and historical sides. I like to focus on terminology of specific sides of language so to familiarise people with their field of interest. Learning theory and practising are held equally. As for BassGuitar, ElectricGuitar and MusicTheory I prefer a creative and efficient approach based on the person's area of interest combined with practical exercises taken directly from songs. I am competent in different styles of playing (Finger picking, Slap, Palm muting, picking) both rhythm and soloing (check out various solo styles on my instagram profile (concealed information) and genres like Pop, Rock(prog, classic), Funk, Blues, Jazz, Metal, Hip-Hop. I can also advise how to deal with people within ensembles and bands, if that's required.
