About James

I was the Manager of Opperations at Willow Monastic Academy — a deeply challenging roll when it comes to communication and embodied practice. A deep level of competence is required for anyone who holds that position.

Before my time as a monastic, I worked at a bank and wore a shirt and tie every day in a rough part of the city. There, I got to experience connecting with people from all walks of life each day— often times after weekends filled with powerful psychedelic realizations. Needless to say, I wanted to connect more deeply and authentically with others, so I have drastically changed my physical setting to allow for a type of service and care that was impossible to achieve at a desk.

About the lesson

I keep things quite simple. If anything, the main ‘lesson’ is one I aim to embody during our sessions — how to listen deeply, mirror the best qualities in ourselves and others, and how to be a good friend.

On a fundamental level, I believe that awareness and attention itself can be helpful, healing, and deeply beneficial in our lives.

In our sessions, I will cultivate a space of deep listening and deep care for whatever you may bring. In doing so, I hope you serve as an example of an embodied ‘lesson’, and to encourage and inspire you to be able to do and be the same for your own friends and loved ones.

I’m happy to answer any and all questions about Dharma and Buddhism as I understand it, and to help people integrate after psychedelic experiences.

For those who are interested, I have also had success with lucid dreaming, and would be happy to coach people through that process.
