Course setup

I have been giving back my gift ever since I have been aware of it back in the 3rd grade. That means in terms of years, I have helped so many. (52 years) giving instruction, tutoring, advising, financial and tax planning. How many have I taught , oh my, it is more than 4,000, young to old. Now we go to results, and really I don't talk about me so much, but here goes. 4,000 is my best guess, which includes more than half as a prepared income tax return, actually the number of tax returns I have done to help the people save money, 3,500. (with refunds amounting to a cool total of $ 4,000,000), My fees were set by what forms were used, not on their refund. That leaves 500 that I have coached in mostly Math and English, with the intention of them passing the GED exam. There were 7 in particular who were difficult to reach, and those were the guys who were in jail and they knew of me, so they extended a hand, that's all I needed. I gave all 7 the gift of proving that anything, and everything is possible ! All 7 passed their GED on their first try. There was a kid in 6th grade, he got F on every test, every subject. He got bullied, labeled, you name it he just took it, befriended no one. Well I was challenged to try and tutor him to do 2 things get anything passable on a test, and a passing grade in one course. 9 week qtrs. 2 weeks already into, did I panic, no, I smiled. The key to any learning is to have a connection from tutor to client and from client to subject matter. It was math. His best score in math that year, was 41 % out of 100 %. This was before online tutoring, I went over to his house, he opened the door, and in a soft steady voice, I said I don't have too many friends, and would he mind if we could like hang out ? He showed me into his room, He liked matchbox cars, I noticed. He stopped for a minute, and said, his father said that a tutor was coming, was I the tutor ? I told him yes, but I already know we can make some magic with this math. He said, yeah easy for me to say, he fails all the time , and I'm always at the top. So I asked him , how about you and I and your matchbox cars take this math, and just crush the math car. matchbox, good thing, "math box" missing what I asked him ? He said .the "C" I said, See ! you just solved your first deduction problem, and the grade on your next test. He said what ? I said it will be a "C". For the first time ever in that kid's life, he did get a c. Followed up by a B-,C+,C,C+.... then the qtr, came down to a comprehensive test. I saw he was all nervous, sweating. I said, hey, I know, tomorrow for the test, you bring your favorite matchbox car. I said that is your getaway if you get too nervous. his final test.. B-. grade for the Qtr. C-
