About Will
I finished school last summer, where I achieved 4A* at A-level. As I have just finished school, I am very familiar with the relevant syllabi, and very aware of how teaching can be made interesting and understandable. I helped many fellow students at school with their Maths and Physics, helping one student in particular for several months increase her GCSE Maths from a predicted C to an achieved A. Since September, I have been tutoring Maths and Physics to several 16+ pupils online.

I believe that understanding a concept is key, rather than just learning to regurgitate it, because on the one hand I always found concepts that I understood far easier to remember, and also, if you understand the concept, it is far easier to apply it to questions in an exam that are slightly different to what one might have practised in revision. After understanding a concept, in my opinion it is important to reinforce one's understanding through questions. Therefore, my lesson structure would be: teach a concept, based around understanding it rather than just learning to regurgitate it - I find everyday analogies are a good way to teach an understanding of more tricky concepts - and then set/talk through some questions to reinforce understanding. Of course, my teaching structure is malleable though and if all a student wants is for me to help with homework, I can also do that. I am a person who doesn't like to leave anything undone; my teaching method is a thorough one, and I would ensure that everything on the syllabus has been covered, as I did so for myself.
