About Octavia
I have been teaching flute for 13+ years and have had the opportunity to work with many talented school and college students. My passion for education encourages me to create lessons that are simple, engaging, and effective. Students begin by learning breathing, posture, finger placement, rhythm, and tone production before moving to expressive performance techniques.
I believe every achievement, whether small or large, deserves recognition because it builds confidence and motivation. Throughout my career, I have enjoyed watching students improve their musical skills and perform successfully.
Alongside flute, I teach music theory, ear training, sight reading, rhythm practice, and beginner music education. My aim is to help students enjoy learning while developing lifelong musical skills.

I teach flute with the belief that music learning should inspire confidence, discipline, and creativity. My methodology is based on Motivation, Communication, Integrity, and Creativity to provide students with an enjoyable and effective learning experience.
Each lesson is customised according to the student's ability and musical goals. Students first develop breathing control, posture, finger coordination, rhythm, and note reading before moving towards scales, articulation, musical interpretation, improvisation, and stage performance.
Motivation keeps students interested by celebrating progress and encouraging regular practice. Communication helps students understand every lesson through simple explanations and practical demonstrations. Integrity creates an environment where students feel respected, supported, and motivated to improve.
Creative activities include movie songs, classical music, rhythm games, listening exercises, duet playing, improvisation, and performance practice. Besides flute, I teach recorder, beginner keyboard, music theory, ear training, sight reading, rhythm practice, and performance coaching.
