About Somil

Hi, I'm Somil Shah.

I am the Co-Founder & CEO of QDS Pro and a GMAT 99%iler with a strong academic and teaching background. I have spent years working with students preparing for GMAT and other competitive examinations, and my biggest strength is simplifying difficult concepts and making students think the right way.

But credentials are only one part of being a good teacher.

What matters to me is whether a student can take a concept they previously found difficult and eventually solve a challenging question independently.

That is why my classes focus on understanding rather than memorization.

Most importantly, I don't believe that every student should follow the same preparation plan.

A student scoring 505 and a student scoring 685 should not be taught in exactly the same way.

Your preparation should depend on your diagnostic performance, target score, available preparation time, strengths, weaknesses and the kind of mistakes you make.

That is why my one-to-one sessions begin by understanding the student before deciding what to teach.

About the lesson

My GMAT classes are personalised around your current level, target score, strengths, weaknesses and preparation timeline.

Every session follows a focused approach: Diagnose → Understand → Apply → Test → Analyse → Improve.

We go beyond simply completing topics. I help you understand the concepts, recognise GMAT question patterns, improve your speed and accuracy, analyse your mistakes, and develop effective test-taking strategies.

Whether you are starting from scratch, struggling with a particular section, stuck at a score plateau, or targeting a highly competitive score, the preparation is adapted to your specific needs.

As a GMAT 99%iler, I combine strong conceptual teaching with practical GMAT strategy, mental-math techniques, question selection, time management and detailed error analysis.

The goal is simple: not just to solve practice questions, but to help you think, decide and perform effectively when the clock is running on test day.

Perfect! After attending numerous trial classes from different institutes in Mumbai, I finally made an informed decision and joined QDS Pro for my GMAT exam. Hands down, if you're looking for an elaborate coaching institute with REAL personal attention, then QDS Pro is the place for you.
There are a lot of well known institutes which are good but rush through the syllabus or have so many students that they don't give personal attention (believe me because I have taken trial classes at multiple centres). You can even ask for free trial session here and see it for yourself. I do not have any regrets. Even during pandemic, the entire syllabus was covered online in such a smooth way that I now prefer online coaching over offline coaching.

The batch size was kept to a maximum of 5 so that each of us got to receive personal attention for our own queries and also got the opportunity to brain storm as a group when required. I follow/idolize people from all walks of life. Some of my role models include Shakuntala Devi, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Narendra Modi, Sundar Pichai, Indra Nooyi, Satya Nadella, Sandeep Maheshwari, ... the list is endless!!!
What is the biggest obstacle you had to overcome in mastering your craft?

In your opinion, what makes someone excel in your subject area?
Right Attitude and Right Aptitude!!!
What would you say to a student who says, "This is too difficult, I give up!"?
If you leave this today, then you will leave something else tomorrow, something else the day after, and this will go on!!! There is no guarantee that you will continue with something for long in future, if you give up on this today. Think a 100 times before you pick up something, but once you've picked it up, then give your heart and soul to it!!! Never Give Up!!!
