About Dennis

I am Dennis, a math, chemistry, and biology tutor who is passionate about helping students understand science in a clear, enjoyable, and practical way. I teach high school and college-level learners, as well as anyone who wants to strengthen their understanding.

My lessons are interactive and student-centered. I break down complex concepts into simple explanations, encourage questions, and guide you through practice problems, discussions, and small projects that help you truly understand the topics, not just memorize them.

Students enjoy my sessions because they feel supported, listened to, and motivated. I believe every learner has unique potential, and my goal is to help you build confidence and improve your results step by step.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy traveling, hiking, and listening to music—activities that keep me curious and energized for the next lesson.

About the lesson

I am a tutor with experience teaching IGCSE and the American curriculum since 2019. I’ve worked with students from a wide range of backgrounds, and my teaching style has evolved to be fully student-centered and adaptable.

In my lessons, I break down key mathematical, chemical, and biological concepts using a lecture-discussion approach, demonstrations, and guided conversations. This helps students think critically, ask questions confidently, and understand why processes work—not just memorize facts. I also focus on real-world applications to build curiosity and more profound understanding.

Outside the classroom, I’ve advised and judged student biology projects in both Cape Town and Nairobi. These experiences strengthened my ability to guide learners through practical scientific thinking and inspired my continued commitment to empowering students in STEM.

Academically, I hold a First-Class Honors degree in Microbiology and am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in molecular biology and bioinformatics. This strong foundation allows me to teach complex topics clearly and support students preparing for exams and general science courses.
