This course starts with getting to know the goals, needs, and experiences of my students. Qi Gong is a highly personal form of body meditation that incorporates breath, focus, and movement. I will teach to the individual level and needs of each student. I will bring empathy and care to each lesson.
I am currently 41 years old and I have studied various martial arts since I was 11. As an adult, I have focused on studying Chinese martial arts, because they are concerned with meditation, health, and longevity in addition to self-defense. I am currently a student of Bagua and Hsing-i, which are similar to Kung Fu and Tai Chi. I have received multiple black belts in Kung Fu and I taught myself Qi Gong for the face after being given facial exercise videos a few years ago. I found that existing facial exercises were limiting by focusing on unnatural facial movements. I combined these concepts with experiences with Qi Gong, acupuncture for the face, Thai facial massage, nutrition studies, and face-lift massage. Then I modified the facial exercises to allow them to flow holistically. I call this Qi Gong for the Face and I hope to teach it to others who wish to be more youthful and energetic.
