I got into 3D art when I was 9 years old, now I teach people of all ages all around the world how to use Blender to design and model their own ideas.

About Gorro
13 years ago I started making small (honestly, kinda ugly) videogame prototypes with Blender. Now I've been teaching modeling and general 3D for three years and I can share my fascination with CGI and free software with everyone, from elementary school children, to professional programmers, to retired photographers.
I believe in teaching not only the usage of the tools, but the theory of how they work, so that you can then understand new or unknown tools much easier and become self-sufficient.
For that, we'll dive into some specifics of the mechanism that are working in the background while we build a series of projects and get out hands dirty. I believe the best way to internalize the knowledge is to practice, so I try to guide students towards small assignments that emphasize the techniques we learned while allowing for the creative expression that any art teaching should promote. That _is_ why we're here, after all.

In our lessons, we'll learn about the theory of how a computer generates images that we interpret as 3D, while we also put in practice the different methods and workflows that exist within Blender.
You'll learn to:
- Create and modify objects with different techniques, knowing when to apply each of them
- Give them materials with all the properties we want for the image we're looking to create. Give them color, texture, roughness, etc.
- Use the objects we created (as well as pre-existing ones) to create large scenes
- Render out pretty pictures of them, taking into account lens effects and lighting techniques, both for realism and stylization.
And more depending on your particular interests and tastes! For example:
- Animation
- Video editing
- Procedural materials and modelling
- Video-game optimization
- Asset library building
- Fluid, cloth, and object simulation
We'll talk about Blender, about what it means for it to be free software, and how we can benefit from that to make our jobs easier.
