I am a graduate student in French language and Literature from Boston University. I have 8 years of teaching experience, 6 years of which I taught in French language institutes and the past two years I was dedicated to teach at Boston University as Teaching Assistant.
Before starting to teach, I participated in workshops and courses of Embassy of France and I got first hand knowledge of interactive methods and different manuals in commerce. After that, I taught for 6 years with more than 4 different manuals which are Rond-Point, Connexions, Campus, Echo, Alter-Ego and a few more. All in which gave me a wide gamut of experience over pros and cons of each method and helped me with a better understanding of my students requirements.
I don't believe on continuing a manual from A-Z and I try to bridge the gap of each method through borrowing activities and exercises that I find in other resources.
I also found it so useful to get help from internet and use French media resources as authentic documents in hand where my students can explore the language and gain more confidence in facing with a real French language world. Furthermore, this method help students to get familiar and to incorporate French culture unconsciously and to find the information they need much easier.
I am a patient teacher who let students talks more. I am more of an outsider who give some directions and help the student to find their own way easier. by this I mean, that as a French language Teacher, I know that each student has its own way of learning. I let my students to make mistake and not be afraid of it. I give them confidence by making them believe on the power of their mistakes. because learning a language is learning out of our mistakes and perseverance and assertiveness.
I have been teaching since 2007. I had common and private courses from 2 to 18 students in each class from novice to advanced level. many of my students got B2 in TCF DAP exam which is an equivalent to advanced level.
I have been teaching French since 2007. Furthermore, I was an editor in Chief of a French magazine in University and I organized french movie Workshops during my Bachelors and Master's degree.
